En el marco de su pol\u00edtica de defensa y promoci\u00f3n de los Derechos Humanos, el Gobierno Nacional recibi\u00f3 a los miembros del Foro Permanente sobre los Afrodescendientes de las Naciones Unidas, quienes adelantaron un proceso orientado a la adopci\u00f3n de una Declaraci\u00f3n Internacional sobre los Derechos de los Afrodescendientes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La ministra de Relaciones Exteriores, Rosa Yolanda Villavicencio, encabez\u00f3 el mensaje del Estado colombiano, subrayando que \u201cColombia reitera su compromiso de cumplir los acuerdos internacionales suscritos en materia de derechos de los pueblos afrodescendientes, en particular la Convenci\u00f3n Internacional sobre la Eliminaci\u00f3n de Todas las Formas de Discriminaci\u00f3n Racial\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La canciller recalc\u00f3 que reparar las deudas hist\u00f3ricas con las comunidades afrodescendientes constituye una prioridad para el pa\u00eds. \u201cColombia hace un llamado a los estados para que aborden de manera directa las repercusiones del colonialismo y la esclavitud, cuyas secuelas a\u00fan se manifiestan en desigualdades socioecon\u00f3micas, exclusi\u00f3n, marginaci\u00f3n y violencia. Reparar la deuda con los pueblos afrodescendientes v\u00edctimas de la trata de esclavos, la esclavizaci\u00f3n y el racismo estructural es una prioridad para el Gobierno Nacional\u201d, afirm\u00f3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

El encuentro, que cont\u00f3 con la participaci\u00f3n del viceministro de Asuntos Multilaterales, Mauricio Jaramillo Jassir, el exembajador de Kenia ante la ONU y expresidente del Consejo de Seguridad, Martin Kimani y el actual embajador Itinerante de los Pueblos, Pastor Murillo, destac\u00f3 la necesidad de consolidar una democracia incluyente que asegure la participaci\u00f3n plena de todos los sectores sociales y contribuya a la reparaci\u00f3n hist\u00f3rica de la poblaci\u00f3n afrodescendiente.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
