<\/a>El Departamento de C\u00f3rdoba ha sido galardonado con una Menci\u00f3n de Honor por el Sistema Regional de \u00c1reas Protegidas del Caribe Colombiano (SIRAP Caribe) en reconocimiento a dos d\u00e9cadas de esfuerzos sostenidos en la conservaci\u00f3n y ordenamiento de ecosistemas estrat\u00e9gicos. La distinci\u00f3n subraya la posici\u00f3n de C\u00f3rdoba como un modelo a nivel nacional y regional, particularmente en la gesti\u00f3n del carbono azul, gracias a la protecci\u00f3n de sus manglares.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La Corporaci\u00f3n Aut\u00f3noma Regional de los Valles del Sin\u00fa y del San Jorge (CVS), la autoridad ambiental encargada de la gesti\u00f3n en el departamento, fue la receptora oficial de este reconocimiento.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Los logros destacados incluyen la consolidaci\u00f3n de 11 \u00e1reas protegidas regionales que abarcan casi 300,000 hect\u00e1reas, esenciales para la Estructura Ecol\u00f3gica Principal del territorio. La CVS ha demostrado un liderazgo notable en la protecci\u00f3n de humedales y complejos cenagosos, estableciendo una meta de conservaci\u00f3n del 100% para estos ecosistemas vitales en la regi\u00f3n Caribe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Un pilar fundamental de este \u00e9xito es la gesti\u00f3n del carbono azul. Entre 2015 y 2023, las iniciativas de conservaci\u00f3n, impulsadas por programas como \u00abVida Manglar\u00bb, han resultado en la captura de aproximadamente 167,989 toneladas de di\u00f3xido de carbono. Las proyecciones apuntan a alcanzar el mill\u00f3n de toneladas capturadas en un plazo de 30 a\u00f1os.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

El n\u00facleo de este modelo se centra en el corredor Bah\u00eda de Cispat\u00e1-Delta del Sin\u00fa, donde se gestionan y conservan 7,561 hect\u00e1reas de manglar con una fuerte participaci\u00f3n comunitaria. Las acciones recientes incluyen la restauraci\u00f3n de m\u00e1s de 58 hect\u00e1reas y la intervenci\u00f3n de m\u00e1s de 34,000 metros de ca\u00f1os en los \u00faltimos cuatro a\u00f1os, asegurando la conectividad entre los manglares, el bosque seco tropical y los sistemas cenagosos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adriana Garc\u00eda, Presidenta del SIRAP Caribe, enfatiz\u00f3 que \u00abC\u00f3rdoba demostr\u00f3, con resultados medibles, que la gobernanza del agua, la conectividad ecol\u00f3gica y el carbono azul se traducen en bienestar y resiliencia para la gente.\u00bb<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Orlando Medina Marsiglia, director de la CVS, expres\u00f3 su orgullo por el reconocimiento, al tiempo que reafirm\u00f3 el compromiso continuo de la entidad. \u00abEste reconocimiento pertenece tambi\u00e9n a las comunidades, guardianas del manglar y del agua,\u00bb a\u00f1adi\u00f3 la direcci\u00f3n general de la CVS, destacando el impacto positivo en 571 familias beneficiadas a trav\u00e9s de mejoras en sus medios de vida.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
