\u201cMonter\u00eda se viste de orgullo para celebrar y exaltar a una comunidad que hace grande a nuestra ciudad, nuestra regi\u00f3n y nuestro pa\u00eds: los deportistas. Son hombres y mujeres que, con disciplina, sobre todo mucha disciplina, han logrado brillar en el competitivo mundo del deporte\u201d, expres\u00f3 el alcalde.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

El acto, organizado por el Instituto Municipal de Deportes y Recreaci\u00f3n (Imder), se hizo como reconocimiento a quienes compiten por las medallas a nivel local, nacional e internacional; as\u00ed como a quienes participan directamente en su carrera deportiva. De igual manera, se destaca a instituciones y personas que, desde distintos frentes, son un constante apoyo para el desarrollo deportivo de Monter\u00eda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

El evento de gala se realiz\u00f3 en el Club Campestre Monter\u00eda y reuni\u00f3 a gran cantidad de personas relacionadas con la actividad f\u00edsica. Estuvieron presentes, adem\u00e1s de un gran n\u00famero de deportistas, destacados entrenadores, dirigentes, periodistas y aliados. Llegaron para reconocer el desempe\u00f1o logrado en el a\u00f1o que est\u00e1 pr\u00f3ximo a concluir.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201c2025 ha sido un a\u00f1o extraordinario para Monter\u00eda. Un a\u00f1o en el que el deporte no solo se vivi\u00f3, sino que se sinti\u00f3 en cada barrio, en cada vereda, y en el coraz\u00f3n de cada ciudadano\u00bb, expres\u00f3 el alcalde.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kerguel\u00e9n Garc\u00eda destac\u00f3 el empe\u00f1o que ha puesto la Administraci\u00f3n Municipal para atraer la realizaci\u00f3n de cert\u00e1menes deportivos a Monter\u00eda, con lo cual se logra visibilizar la ciudad, mover la econom\u00eda y dar a conocer los talentos que aqu\u00ed tenemos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

*Capital deportiva*<\/p>\n\n\n\n

El mandatario resalt\u00f3 el papel del Instituto Municipal de Deportes y Recreaci\u00f3n (Imder), \u201cque en poco tiempo logr\u00f3 mover, unir e inspirar a toda una ciudad\u201d, dijo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Entre los eventos que se vivieron en la Perla del Sin\u00fa durante 2025, se destacan la velada box\u00edstica Noche de Campeonas, el campeonato Colombia Championship de Crossfit y el Sudamericano Conmebol Sub-17 de f\u00fatbol masculino. De igual manera, la ciudad vibr\u00f3 con el Mundial, Nacional y Sudamericano de Tenis de Mesa; as\u00ed como con el Panamericano de S\u00f3ftbol Femenino. M\u00e1s recientemente, alberg\u00f3 los Juegos Escolares Centroamericanos y del Caribe 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

El alcalde resalt\u00f3 tambi\u00e9n la realizaci\u00f3n de otros eventos en ajedrez, ciclismo, atletismo, running y boxeo. Igualmente, hizo \u00e9nfasis en la importancia que, desde la Alcald\u00eda de Monter\u00eda, se dio a la parte formativa y el deporte para la salud.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cQuiero decirles tambi\u00e9n que lo m\u00e1s valioso no ocurri\u00f3 solamente en las grandes tarimas, sino en los lugares donde se siembra el futuro: en las Escuelas Deportivas para Todos, en las Escuelas de Formaci\u00f3n Rural, en el programa Monter\u00eda Vive Fit, en los Juegos Intercolegiados, y en cada espacio donde un ni\u00f1o, una ni\u00f1a, un joven o un adulto deciden empezar su camino deportivo\u201d, anot\u00f3 el mandatario.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

De otro lado, el buen papel en la organizaci\u00f3n de los torneos internacionales, la acogida del p\u00fablico y la infraestructura con la que contamos, hizo que se otorgaran nuevas sedes a la ciudad. Es el caso de la pr\u00f3xima realizaci\u00f3n de los Campeonatos Panamericanos de Ciclismo de Ruta 2026 y la confirmaci\u00f3n de Monter\u00eda como sede de los Juegos Deportivos Nacionales 2027, una oportunidad para seguir demostrando que esta ciudad es la capital deportiva de Colombia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

*En lo m\u00e1s alto*<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Por su parte, el director del Imder, Germ\u00e1n Quintero Mendoza, indic\u00f3: \u00abNuestra tierra vibra hoy con alegr\u00eda, porque hemos visto, una vez m\u00e1s, c\u00f3mo hombres y mujeres de todas las edades han llevado el nombre de Monter\u00eda a lo m\u00e1s alto, venciendo obst\u00e1culos, superando miedos, tocando puertas, cayendo y levant\u00e1ndose con una determinaci\u00f3n que inspira\u00bb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Agreg\u00f3 que este reconocimiento era una deuda. \u00abUna deuda con ustedes, deportistas, y con todas las familias que los han acompa\u00f1ado incondicionalmente, desde la madrugada hasta la noche, desde la primera derrota hasta la \u00faltima victoria. Hoy estamos honrando esa historia. Estamos diciendo: los vemos, los admiramos y creemos en ustedes\u00bb, manifest\u00f3 el director.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Estos logros de 2025, impulsan a seguir trabajando por el deporte, expres\u00f3 Quintero Mendoza, quien prometi\u00f3 que \u00abpor eso, con la gu\u00eda de nuestro alcalde Hugo Kerguelen, en el 2026 trabajaremos con mayor convicci\u00f3n, con mayor cercan\u00eda y con mayor sensibilidad humana\u00bb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

*Los destacados*<\/p>\n\n\n\n

En la Gala de los Premios Laurel de Oro se entregaron 121 distinciones, repartidas en doce categor\u00edas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

El Imder hizo inicialmente reconocimientos especiales al alcalde de Monter\u00eda, Hugo Kerguel\u00e9n Garc\u00eda; al director del Comit\u00e9 Ol\u00edmpico Colombiano, Ciro Solano, y a Carlos Camargo Assis, magistrado de la Corte Constitucional.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

De otro lado, la WBSC Am\u00e9ricas Softball, en cabeza de su presidente Tommy Vel\u00e1squez, entreg\u00f3 un reconocimiento a Monter\u00eda y al alcalde Kerguel\u00e9n, por haber organizado un par de campeonatos panamericanos de s\u00f3ftbol, en 2024 y 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Durante la velada de este mi\u00e9rcoles, los m\u00e1s destacados deportistas se llevaron la distinci\u00f3n Laurel de Oro, al ser premiados como Deportista del A\u00f1o. El galard\u00f3n en damas fue para la boxeadora Sof\u00eda Alvear Paternina, quien recientemente obtuvo la medalla de oro en su divisi\u00f3n en los Juegos Escolares Centroamericanos y del Caribe 2025. Por su parte, el ciclista profesional \u00c1lvaro Hodeg, campe\u00f3n panamericano de ruta en 2025, recibi\u00f3 el premio entre los varones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Los otros reconocidos con el Laurel de Oro en las distintas divisiones fueron:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Trayectoria deportiva y legado: Miguel \u201cHappy\u201d Lora.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. Obra deportiva: Luis Escobar Pocaterra.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Periodismo deportivo: Humberto Gonz\u00e1lez Kerguel\u00e9n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. Fotograf\u00eda deportiva: Andr\u00e9s L\u00f3pez Vargas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5. Deportistas de altos logros: Nicol Serna Palencia, Valentina Vel\u00e1squez Campo, Elkin Rivero Almario, Linda Pacheco Hern\u00e1ndez y Lina Licona Torres.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

6. Deportista promesa del a\u00f1o: Isabella Cabrales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

7. Deporte Escolar: Sof\u00eda Alvear Paternina y \u00c1ngela Dayana Carvajal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

De otro lado, se entregaron reconocimientos a deportistas y equipos de Monter\u00eda que se destacaron en el deporte profesional; as\u00ed como a 58 deportistas aficionados. Adem\u00e1s, a instituciones educativas, empresas que apoyan la actividad, organizaciones deportivas y seleccionados que salieron triunfadores en Juegos Departamentales, entre otros.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
